About Me
Hello, I’m Edgar Jimenez.
I am a front-end web developer and graphic designer in Colorado Springs.
I was born in Guadalajara. Jalisco, Mexico. I originally moved to the U.S. at the age of 4 but I had the privilege of moving back at a young age and completing some primary school years which made me fluent in Spanish. Ever since moving back, I worked in the restaurant industry while I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology at the Sacramento State University. Working in the industry, I fell in love with artistry of craft beer, from the brewing process all the way to the packaging. I eventually worked my way up to being the beer director where I managed a list of over 80 beers and worked with large breweries such as Dogfish Head Brewery, Sierra Nevada, Saint Archer and others on organizing and funding free music events for the city of Sacramento. This exposure to branding, advertising, and marketing made me fall in love with design and that is what led me to where I am today. Naturally as a psychology major, I am fascinated with people and problem solving. I love finding solutions and maximizing your potential. Let’s create something meaningful together!

PORTFOLIO

Magnolia Hair Salon
Magnolia was a hair salon concept for the target audience of young professionals. I was tasked with creating the logo and branding that would represent their mid-century modern aesthetic and representative of the target audience. Other branding concepts such as a website, shirts, bags etc. were in the works but unfortunately this business never came to fruition due to the hardships of the pandemic.

Bahaus 2-Page Layout Poster
This poster was designed as an informational 2-page layout poster for my design class. The goal of the poster was to create a design that represented the art style of the designated time period and create a professional layout that could be used in a magazine. I incorporated basic elements of the Bauhaus movement such as the three primary colors and geometric shapes typical in the Bauhaus movement.
Video Editing
I made this video edit using clips from a HUF skating video I found online and merged it with clips of the music video in the background. My goal was to re-edit this beautifully shot skate film and turn it into a 90’s style skate video I grew up watching. I added several “old school” cuts and transitions to give it that 90’s editing vibe and all the skate clips are nicely aligned to the scenes in the video.
One of my favorite hobbies is exploring new climbing routes with friends and capturing the moments spent together. Here are some of my favorite experiences from the 2020 summer when I got to see some Colorado’s beautiful scenery from many different angles.
